Review:
First time author, Jayanand Ukey, introduces his book as a
heartwarming tale of love, loss and determination and also as a light reading
novel. Maybe he has taken the ‘light reading’ part a little too seriously. This
book is too simple in its plot, expression and presentation. The story is too
simple and it is entirely summarized in the synopsis. There is nothing more to
add other than a line or two explaining how Girish manages to get a job and how
he convince Prajakta’s dad.
The love story has nothing new to offer other than the usual
family predicaments, another suitor for the girl who eventually turns out to be
a ‘bad guy’ and a dramatic ending. However if I take the positive side of being
this simple a story, it doesn’t make us tense or worried. There is continuous
flow and no dragging conversations. Even though the story is predictable, I
felt really happy when my predictions turned out to be true. So it was
altogether a pleasant read. I would recommend this story for a leisure read if
you are on a two or three hours journey (there are only 198 pages and the fonts
are pretty big).
My Rating : 1.5 out of 5
